EVENT FAQ
🏁 WHEN IS THE EVENT?The Bike-A-Thon will take place on Saturday, August 9th at 5:00 PM at Oak Creek BMX.
🏁 WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER?Our goal is to have all riders signed up by Friday, July 25th.
🏁 WHEN ARE DONATIONS DUE?
Donations are due by Thursday, August 7th - to be counted toward team and individual totals for prizes. Late donations will be accepted, but may not be able to be totaled for prizes.
🏁 WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Any USA BMX member - pedal biker or strider! (striders will run separately from pedal bikers on the usual two strider straights)
🏁 HOW DO I SIGN UP TO PARTICIPATE? Follow the ⬆️ “Steps to Sign Up.” ⬆️ at the top of this page! All riders must register through the official sign up link regardless of whether donations are collected online or in person.
🏁 HOW SHOULD DONATIONS BE MADE?
The preferred method is through the Betterworld platform, which helps you reach more potential sponsors through social, email, and link sharing; and it helps us streamline the collection process, including tracking team and rider progress. You will receive your Betterworld fundraising page via email after you sign up.
🏁 WHAT OTHER WAYS CAN DONATIONS BE MADE?
Cash, Check, and Venmo!
For cash and check donations, please use this form: Cash and Check Donation Form
*Be sure checks are made out to 'Sacramento Valley BMX'
Venmo: @oakcreekbmx (be sure to include riders name in donation so it can be credited to them)Please note: All riders must still register using the official sign-up link, even if collecting donations offline. That way, we can credit any cash/check/or Venmo donation to their profile.
🏁 HOW DOES THE BIKE-A-THON WORK?Each registered rider will have 30 minutes (15 minutes for striders) to complete as many laps as possible around the track. Track officials will be tracking the laps. In addition to fundraising for a great cause, participant prizes will be awarded for the most laps!
🏁 CAN DONORS CHOOSE HOW THEY SPONSOR?
Yes! Bike-a-Thon donors have two options:
Flat Donation – choose to make a one-time, up-front donation in any amount.
Per-Lap Pledge* – pledge a specific amount per lap, which will be charged after the event, based on how many laps the rider completes. *Must be pledged through the Betterworld platform
Both options are greatly appreciated and help support our track and riders!
🏁 ARE THERE PRIZES?Yes! We’ll be awarding fun prizes in several categories, including:
🏆 Top Team Fundraising - Win a private Oak Creek track session for the team prior to State Finals! (team members only)
🏆 Top Individual Fundraising - Prize to be announced soon!
