July Rider of the Month: John Cowley

If you frequent Oak Creek, no introduction is necessary. For those who don’t know him, this is 7 year old John Cowley and he is our July ROTM! John began racing in 2023 in the BMX Racing League at OC when he was 5 years old and has been hooked ever since! He races in the 7 intermediate class and rides the Rift!!! John’s long term goal is to ride on the Rockstar Rift Tangent team and win a golden crank award. His top goals for this year are to win a state plate, dominate his class and go to Grands. John respects many riders but ever since he saw Ryder Santos race at the Nor-Cal Nationals last year, he’s wanted to be just like him. Ryder has been an excellent role model and mentor for his biggest fan (John) and for that, the Cowley family cant thank him enough. John is looking forward to riding with Ryder this month and getting way faster!! John would love to thank Oak Creek for all the guidance and support on his journey as well as his trainer Vilma Rimsaite for teaching him new things and for believing in him when he doesn’t believe in himself. He loves sharing his triumphs with her, learning from his mistakes and what he can do better next time! And of course, he wants to thank TJ and Rich for making such cool bikes!
